Use Doover with Claude and ChatGPT

You can connect your Doover account to Claude or ChatGPT and work with your devices by asking questions in plain English, the same way you'd ask a colleague:

Which of my pumps are offline right now? What was the tank level at the north site over the last week? Which version of the flow meter app is running on Pump Station 3?

The assistant looks up the answer in Doover and replies in the chat. There is nothing to install, and there are no API keys: you sign in with your normal Doover login.

What you need

  • A Doover account. If your organisation doesn't have one yet, contact support@doover.com.
  • A Claude or ChatGPT account. See each guide for which plans can use connectors.

What the assistant can do

The assistant works as you, with exactly the permissions your Doover account already has. It can't see or change anything you couldn't see or change yourself in the Doover app.

You can ask it to…For example
Look around your fleet"Show me my devices and which ones are online."
Read live and historical data"What are the current readings on the main pump?" "Chart yesterday's flow."
Check what's installed"Which apps are on this device, and are any out of date?"
Look up reports and schedules"When does the weekly site report run, and who gets it?"
Make changes, when you ask"Update the alarm threshold on Tank 2 to 85%."
Send commands, when you ask"Start Pump 1."

Staying in control

  • Changes always ask first. Reading data happens straight away. Anything that changes a setting, sends a command or deploys software asks you to approve it before it runs. You can approve once, or always allow a specific action.
  • Your permissions apply. If your Doover role can't do something, neither can the assistant.
  • You can disconnect at any time from your assistant's connector or plugin settings. Disconnecting stops access immediately.
  • Commands reach real equipment. Treat "start", "stop", and "deploy" requests the way you would in the Doover app. Check the approval prompt before you allow it.
